Natural History Tours

Each of our rustic luxury lodges offer opportunities for discovery

Winterlake Lodge offers seclusion and spectacular scenery. Views of the Trimble Glacier and Hayes Glacier, along with a view of the entrance to Rainy Pass, are visible from the lake. Behind the lodge, Wolverine Ridge offers intriguing hiking and wildlife viewing. This area has a turn of the century gold-rush history.

Tutka Bay Lodge is surrounded by a rich history of native settlements, early Alaskan fishing communities and turn-of-the-century pioneers that scraped a living together fishing for herring and halibut. We tour the quaint village of Seldovia, visit Yukon Island and explore the Herring Islands in search of clues from the past.
