Tutka Bay Lodge offers complimentary adventure activities for our full-service guests. Each day, our manager creates a daily activities sheet that can be followed as a guideline or personalized with your guide.


  • Watch sea otters dive for urchins & clams
  • Discover sea stars, anemones, chitons and mussels at low tide
  • Watch for whales, sea lions, porpoises and seals
  • Walk our private two-mile trail through old-growth forest
  • Learn to kayak in the cove

Out-camp Adventures

  • Pick berries on Sadie Cove Knob in Kachemak Bay State Park
  • Hike Grace Ridge or any of a variety of moderate to strenuous hikes in Kachemak Bay State Park and the surrounding area, where you may experience glacial lakes, alpine meadows or pristine waterfalls
  • Tour the scenic shoreline by boat
  • Experience the beauty of our fjord from the intimate perspective of a kayak, as you visit hidden coves and bays, explore the hatchery, and perhaps catch glimpses of local wildlife such as loons, otters, porpoise, or even a breaching whale
  • Visit a local oyster farm, and allow our chefs to prepare Kachemak Bay’s famous oysters for you
  • Freshwater fish for salmon
  • Tour the artist enclave of Halibut Cove and view the rookery on Gull Island
