Terrific stay
August 2018
We had two memorable nights here and were warmly welcomed and looked after by all the cheerful staff. Nothing seemed too much trouble and the logistics team worked hard to reschedule our bear trip when bad weather cancelled it. All the staff were delightful but particular thanks to Gus and Mew. Hikes and boat trips were most enjoyable and the sunset was special (not just because we hadn’t seen much sun during the previous week of our Alaskan adventure!)
The meals were superb. Beautifully presented, wonderfully tasty and not huge portions so it left room for dessert. A very high class and well-run venture and certainly the highlight of our holiday.

Amazing in every way. Highly recommend.

Our family of four (kids 11, 14) spent 4 nights at Tutka Bay in July and it was the best trip we’ve ever taken, and we’ve traveled a lot! We arrived by water taxi (fun!) from Homer (fun, but touristy vibe in Homer). It was fun to watch others arrive by float plane. The lodge rooms are simple but very comfy, not super fancy bathrooms but just fine. It is a network of charming cabins with plenty of privacy and a cozy main lodge where you congregate for great food and warm conversation.
The food is 5 star, world class, great variety. Even the campfire s’mores fixings were all gourmet homemade! We did a brief cooking class/demo that was super fun. The big cooking classes done by their James Beard award winning chef in a kooky transformed boat look amazing. We had a mix of group meals – fun as the lodge only houses a small number of guests and we met interesting people from all over the word. We also had some private family meals and trail lunches. After excursions there were always yummy gourmet snacks waiting for us. Delightful service. And after dinner “teatime with Gus” became a family favorite, the kids loved his shenanigans. The chef even prepared the fish we caught and served it for dinner!

Most beautiful place on earth
August 2017
When we stayed there, we got to do a wide range of activities ranging from helicopter assisted activities to other stuff on site. We saw a Caribou 30 feet away at the end as well as a brown bear, 2 black bear and 3 moose. We also went rafting which was amazing, where we saw 8 or 10 doll sheep and 2 bald eagles. In addition, the food was exquisite and the fly fishing on site was very enjoyable.
